Personally I prefer to let location.conf to do all the work. It is an
iterative development but eventually I get a picture that represents my
view of the network architecture. If the layout is unmanageable, is it
because there are too many objects on a submap? If so then add another
location.

The is how I understood how location.conf works. What I am doing is
updating the location.conf file and then under serversetup going and
regenerating the new map. What I did find out now is exactly what you said.
Now after I update the location.conf I simply create a new map. But I
instantly want to turn off auto layout because it becomes unmanageable,
right after I turn it off though it stops placing the devices in the
correct containers that are defined in location.conf and simply places
those devices in the NOHA. Should I just let auto layout run a while so it
can add them to the proper containers?
