please also export AdditionalLegalTrapCharacter in /usr/OV/bin/netnmrc.pre
and ...
... this is very important ...
... restart really all NetView daemons. That means stop them via "ovstop
nvsecd" and restart them
via /etc/netnmrc.
After this nvcorrd, ovactiond and actionsvr should escape also the colon.

The way you have done will not restart ovspmd and nvsecd. But this is
necessary because all other daemons will get the environment of ovsmpd.
And the necessary environment for ovspmd is set by /etc/netnmrc which reads
also /usr/OV/bin/netnmrc.pre .

I want to use AdditionalLegalTrapCharacter feature to escape several
characters.
I have create /usr/OV/bin/netrmrc.pre file with the definition of the
variable
:
AdditionalLegalTrapCharacter=':'
I stop and start daemos with ovstop and ovstart.
The feature doesn´t work, the file ovactiond.log only indicates that
charactes
.- will be escaped.
Netview is 7.1.1 AIX 4.3.3.
Where is the mistake?
