Nice idea - don't think it will work. trapd.log doesn't have all the
trap variables recorded.
Are you still working on Windows or have you swapped to Unix? If Unix,
you could write a ruleset that fires on selected (or all) events and
calls a little shellscript that dumps all the trap information to a
file. You could then copy that file and munge it to add snmptrap
commands to replay selected events.
Cheers,

Hi list,
I'm just in the middle of testing some nv rules / tec integration &
I've had a thought (possibly the 1st!) about being able to regenerate
traps sent to netview for testing?
Typically a trap would have been sent to a customers live netview box,
possibly without the trap formatting in place & I need to reproduce it
on my machines & do rules/tec stuff. The trap will come from a device
I won't have access to so I can't easily re-generate it.
Is the trapd.log contents complete & a standard form I can pull out
and form a call to snmptrap, or is there a trace that needs to be set
that would cause it to contain the full trap and it's variables?
Many thanks in advance
