Thanks Hendrik,

Do they have a similer support for AIX 4.3?
We are more interested in that now.

If somebody has built an agent from net_snmp or anywhere
else, we are willing to buy it also.

Hi Pankaj,
with AIX 5.1 ML03 (and next MLs) and AIX 5.2 there is a new
snmpd/dpid2-subagent which manages the variables defined in RFC 1514:
       o hrSystem (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1)
       o hrStorage (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2)
       o hrDevice (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3)
       o hrSWInstalled (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6)
Its name is hostmibd.

With AIX 5.2 there are still some more subagents named aixmibd and
snmpmibd.
Refer to the manpages and/or AIX support for questions about these agents.

Regards,
Hendrik

Thanks Joe,

SNMP Research doesn't have any agent for AIX.
Net-SNMP has an agent but it is not clear how much
of the Host Resources MIB it supports.

Is there anything that comes standard with AIX?

Hi!

I am looking for a SNMP agent which supports
host resource mib (RFC 2790).
I wanted to know if that MIB or something similar
is supported by the agent that come with the OS
or not.
If not, where can I get (buy) it?

Thanks for your help!

SNMP Research (www.snmp.com) provide an agent, Common Intelligent Agent,
that includes a subagent for the Host Resources MIB. Runs on a variety
of OS.
