Hi
Ethan
there
is a way to set this flag manualy.
Create
a file that contains a header like this:
Selection Name,isSwitch
then
add a line like this:
yourswitch,TRUE (I think this flag will be a boolean one, but never tried
the boolean ones.)
save
it and do a nvdbimport -fv yourfile
This
should set your Flag to true.

isSwitch
I
did as you said , deleted and rediscovered the devices but isSwitch did not
get set, I do have ciscoworks and it is intergrated into netview , but new
device support stopped when aix became no longer supported by cisco.
The
reason i need isSwitch set is that we have tavve reporting and it will not put
the devices into the group "switches" unless "isSwitch" flag is
set

isSwitch is set when the OID is declared in
/usr/OV/conf/C/oid_to_sym to be "...:connector:switch". The OID for
the new switch type should also be entered in /usr/OV/conf/oid_to_type at
the same time. Installing the Cisco interface package should cover
this.

Subject: [nv-l] isSwitch
where do i find
in the mib tree the value to set cisco switches (2950 adn4507) to isSwitch
?? my 3500's came with that already turned on but the new switchs
dont show it.
I thought it
was sysServices but they match up for one thats show 'isSwitch = true' and
the ones that are missing it.
thanks
