Costas,
Add a -f 0 to the commandline that starts snmpd in
your /etc/init.d/init.snmpdx script, mine looks like this:
/usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx -y -f 0 -c /etc/snmp/conf
This should keep the subagent from being deleted.

Hi all
my story goes like this:
NetView 7.1.3 FP2, Solaris 2.7
after my hard disk's "death" (Filesystems on the disk:
/, /var, /usr, and /usr/OV) i've been forced to make a
new installation of Solaris and after that i made a
restore of /usr/OV.
To my disappointment mgragentd couldn't start and the
messages i got were:
snmpdx: Subagent died: mgragentd PID=366 -- deleted
from the agent table
in /var/adm/messages and
object manager name: mgragentd
behavior: OVs_NON_WELL_BEHAVED
state: NOT_RUNNING
PID: 400
exit status: exit(2)
object manager name: nvlockd
behavior: OVs_WELL_BEHAVED
state: FAILED
PID: 403
last message: Initialization failed
exit status: -
in /usr/OV/tmp/netnmrc.ovstart
My question is:
Do I have to restore something beyond /usr/OV ???
or I have to install NetView again :-( ???
TIA
Costas
