I run without a graphics card by means of vncware http://www.realvnc.org On linux 'vncserver :1 -geometry 1024x768 -depth 24' On a pc 'vncviewer' ipaddress:1 Once ovw is running, I can disconnect the vncviewer while leaving netview running.
