Paul, are you talking about alternative option or this is some thing else
related to another problem other than what I mentioned. We are currently
changing the IP address of the NetView master and I guess I mixed the original
question with what issue I have

Hany,
If you are changing the address of the NetView server and have
configured all your snmp agents to only allow access from the NetView machine,
then yes you will need to do that if you want NetView to be able to communicate
with the snmp agent. What I was saying is that you can create a seedfile for
discovery based on the current netview database.
