I'm confused.  Are you having a problem now or are you trying to avoid one?  If you are having one, then try
        xnmsnmpconf -clearCache
so that you guarantee that the old entries are removed from the in-memory cache that xnmsnmpconf maintains for performance reasons.

There's no place in snmpCol.conf for snmpCollect to store a community name.  So he doesn't need a signal to tell him to use the ovsnmp database; he always does.  However, after you have changed a community name, you may need to clear the cache to make certain that the old one is gone.
I suggest you take a look at the man page for xnmsnmpconf.  There are options to dump the cache and see what's in it, and other things you might find useful.

[nv-l] SNMP Community change

We are going to chenge read comminiy in several routers in  out network.
With xnmsnmpconf command or snmpConf GUI I can make the change in Netview
netmon without stopping daemons.
My doubt is how can I send a signal to snmpCollect in order to work with
the new comminity withot stopping it.
I have try xnmsnmpconf -event but does not work
Any suggestion
