I'm confused. Are you having a problem now or are you trying to avoid one? If you are having one, then try xnmsnmpconf -clearCache so that you guarantee that the old entries are removed from the in-memory cache that xnmsnmpconf maintains for performance reasons. There's no place in snmpCol.conf for snmpCollect to store a community name. So he doesn't need a signal to tell him to use the ovsnmp database; he always does. However, after you have changed a community name, you may need to clear the cache to make certain that the old one is gone. I suggest you take a look at the man page for xnmsnmpconf. There are options to dump the cache and see what's in it, and other things you might find useful. We are going to chenge read comminiy in several routers in out network. With xnmsnmpconf command or snmpConf GUI I can make the change in Netview netmon without stopping daemons. My doubt is how can I send a signal to snmpCollect in order to work with the new comminity withot stopping it. I have try xnmsnmpconf -event but does not work Any suggestion Enviorment: AIX 4.3.3 ML-10 Netview 7.1.1 ¿Quieres irte a París gratis?
