Thank you all..
We do have CiscoWorks, WLSE and Netview
monitoring. Since the Operators primarily use Netview, I am trying to see how they
can be alerted when the radio side goes down..Netview only displays the BVI
interface and not the dot11 side -- which I think is the main issue. I would
expect that when I double click on the AP that I would see both interfaces but
I only see BVI.
Below is the objection information on one
AP:
1) the AP has a generic icon(
isComputer=True). How do I change it to be bridge?
2) why is the SnmpAGent = Unset How do I
change that ? or does it matter ?
3) Interface -- it only list the BVI
4) Does anyone have the mibs for the APs?
Aironet 1200s ?

Subject: Re: [nv-l] Monitoring
Access Points
I have spoken to both Cisco and Tivoli and opened tickets with both on this
same subject in the past year.
What
we found out with some pain points.
We
implemented a sort of mid level solution. WLSE is a Cisco Appliance for
Wireless LAN Solution Engine providing the some of the following features;
ap
availability
radio
thresholds
eap
wep
leap
and
other security features all the way to the client. Also bridges, rogue ap
( just in case some yahoo plugs in a fry's linksys on the corp network ) and
some other cool configuration features.
This
was by no means easy for me as a newbe NetView/Tivoli Administrator. But
with 3rd level support from Netview they were able to help me see this to light
and we now have the wlse talking all the way to TEC and the 7x24 staff.
If
you would like more information on this, and how we use I would be glad to
share.

Subject: [nv-l] Monitoring
Access Points
|
Hello List,
I cant find the answer in archive so I am not sure if
anyone has encountered this.
Can Netview monitor the radio side of an access point?
In particular AIX 5.2 Netview 7.1.4 Cisco 1210 Access Points.
We are monitoring BVI side but we also need to know if
the radio goes does. Any ideas?
Is this a Cisco TAC or Tivoli Tech question? I haven't open a
ticket with either one just wanting to know
Thanks, Catalina
