if I remember correctly the gif must
have maximal 16 colors.

We are running Netview V5R1 on digital unix
4.0F.
 
I have to set the background of various submaps
to customised displays. I have the 
problem that in some cases the bitmap works,
in others netview reports 
 
"background file not found"
 
The file format is the same in all cases
gif 87a Interlace, the files are all in the 
same place !  
 
Does any one have any ideas ? is the a relevant
patch / work around.
 
I have tried xpm file but the quality drops
too much.
