If I am not mistaken and timeout of -1 will disable it. As for
the maximum, Im not sure there is an arbitrary limit, try
whatever you like. I did find a few snippets about this:

The *maxInactiveIntervalSec* parameter does not actually mean "user inactivity", but all activity. Web console applications, such as the Submap Explorer, use the "Event Channel" to periodically poll the web server. This traffic will satisfy the activity test and prevent a time out.
