I found it in a later copy of the IANAifType-MIB, which defines an
enumeration for the IANAifType ::= TEXTUAL-CONVENTION

bridge (209), -- Transparent bridge interface

Presumably, the netmon folks will update this for the next release of
NetView.

Well, I believe that the error indicates that netmon doesn't know what
kind of an interface type "209" is, which means his internal tables
have to be
updated to allow for it. In the meantime, he'll treat it as the
default
type, which should mean as ethernet.

On UNIX you can do this yourself in /usr/OV/conf/if_to_sym. But the
folks who port netmon to Windows seemed to have internalized that table,
so I
don't know how you could modify it. Even on UNIX though, the if_to_sym
we
ship only recognizes up to 106.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of a thing is a 209?
