Yes, there is only the default map. And the Manager Submap is missing from that map. So we want it to make that map over again from scratch, and see if it will inlcude the Manager Submap this time, because everything is now in place for it to make it (the two lines in the snmpd.conf, etc.). We can get it to start over by doing the automatic regen. That will discard the map 'default', clear the topology database, clear the object database, rebuild the smartset objects, and restart discovery.  So no, there is no need to delete anything first. There will be no map until you bring up the gui for the first time.  Well, unless netviewd comes up, then it will make the map. Come to think of it, it might be a good idea to disable netviewd before you do it, just to eliminate that factor.

So, to recap:

ovdelobj /usr/OV/lrf/netviewd.lrf   (can also be unregistered in serversetup, but this works)
In serversetup, control... restart automatic map generation
When that finishes, start the map r/w   (as root)

It should come up with the Manager Submap.  If it does not, then you have a repeatable problem.

You lost me - which map is it missing from?  there is only the default map now.  you mean I should delete the Neview servers and then run automatic map generation?

Since it is the map that it is missing from, I'd try deleting the map and recreating it. Do that with the restart automatic map generation. Unless you've already tried that.

I had that once on a SLES 9 box. After I put those two lines in snmpd.conf, made sure snmpd was running, put the entries for the Netview server in snmsnmpconf, and cleared the database, it came back.

[nv-l] Missing manager submap

Folks:

I'm doing this port of our aix installtion to linux and I'm missing the manager submap when I bring up netview.  What would cause this?  The smartset netviews has all my netview servers in it, though.  Thanks in advance
