in netview? And for polling parameters I have adjusted the
1. Time out
2. Retry counts
3. Status Polling, is this is fine .Advice
me on this

There is no need to alter any NetView traps. Bill's
explanation was meant to show you how to differentiate between agent traps,
sent by devices in your network, and NetView internal traps.
The fix for "false downs" is to adjust your polling parameters.
