The question was, "Can you see CRC data for this interface #19 using the MIB browser or not?"
You could also try using snmpwalk and look for it there. Perhaps that would be better, though there will be (lots) more output to sort through.

But if the data you seek is not in the output, then the agent on the remote machine is not returning it, and there is nothing you can do in NetView to make it do that. That is a remote device configuration issue.

When you specify ALL in snmpCollect's configuration, he is still at the mercy of the remote agent. If the agent doesn't return any information for interface 19, then that's all there is to be said. No data was returned. snmpCollect operates in a fashion similar to snmpwalk. He does an series of SNMP "getnext" queries for the data, just as snmpwalk does. And he operates on what is returned.

SNMP is a cooperative effort, and NetView cannot force an agent to respond the way you think it should when it does not.

Hi,

The interface no of a router for which i need CRC Error data is 19, the interface no got from Monitor-->Tools-->Network Configuration-->Address, when i start querying the same router from MIB Browser traversing through the MIB Structure .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.12 for locIfInCRC, i can able to see till 16 Instance only. How do i obtain CRC errors data for this Interface. i have even mentioned this router IP in the Tool-->Data Collection & Thershold -->locIfInCRC (MIB Object Collection Summary) specified the option ALL Instance. Please advice me on this.

Try using the native MIB browser and querying those devices for this information directly. If they don't provide it, then there is nothing NetView can do. If they do provide it, then I suggest a verbose trace of snmpCollect is in order to see what happens when those devices are queried by him.

Hi,


Hi iam using AIX 5L server for Netview v7.1.4.4, DB is Oracle 9i, For certain devices iam not getting CRC Error data, even though i have included those IP address in the Data Collection and Threshold option. Please advice me on this.
