The default symbol selected when the object is discovered depends on the
relationships of the Object Identifier (OID) found in the
/usr/OV/conf/oid_to_xxxx files and various files in the /usr/OV/bitmaps,
.../symbols and .../fields files. It's covered in the books.
It's easier to select your node symbol and use the RightMouseClick and
Edit->Change-Symbol-Type service on the classic console. It's very
similar to how you create an icon manually.

I am trying to discover a router, i have mentioned the IP address of
that router in netmon.seed file, netview can able to discover that
object but the object iam getting doesnt represent the router (
connector ) symbol, it shows a node symbol, what i have to do now. That
comes within segment. Please advice me on this. Iam using Netview
7.1.4.4 in AIX.
