Jeff,
The Database Guide has NOTHING to do with using DB2 for the Data Collector. Ignore EVERYTHING that is in it. That document refers to installing RIM and an RDBMS as an alternative to the native NetView databases used for topology and object. That is not what you are doing. You did not install RIM which required the Tivoli Framework, nor the NetView RDBMS Database component under Framework, did you? You don't have the scripts you mention because you did not install the NetView Database Component which provides them.
So toss the Databases Guide and please read the other references I mentioned.

James the issue is ... How to install the DB2 component. I can't run the collector script until I have the DB2 installed correctly.
I have read all the doc I can find, but it surely is not clear how to accomplish this.
Reading from the DATABASE GUIDE for 7.1.5 page 6, it defines the steps to install the DB, but the script ( db2 -f netview_db2_admin_create.sql ) cannot find the file "db2 -f netview_db2_admin_create.sql" which the doc states should be in the /usr/OV/scripts directory. There is no directory by that name, or even the file mentioned, anywhere on the system. Something must need to be installed that was not installed during my initial 7.1.5 install.

There are instructions on switching SNMP data collectors in the IBM Tivoli NetView for UNIX and Linux Administrator's Guide which you can access here,
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v3r1/index.jsp?toc=/com.ibm.itnetview.doc/toc.xml
I would also look at the Release Notes for a few extra hints and tips, and there are some troubleshooting instructions in the Installation Guide, since most people switch to the data collector by doing an a new or upgrade installation. What you need to know if that's how you are going to do it is in there, along with those hints in the Release Notes, which were added after the Installation Guide was complete.
My advice is to download all the 7.1.5 PDFs and search them all for "nvcollector" before you continue. IMHO, setting up snmpCollect is a piece of cake compared to setting up nvcollector.

I want to use SNMPV2 collector.
Did NOT install DB2 with initial NetView install.
I have jut installed the DB2 package. (I think, since there is no clear
doc on how )
Has anybody done this as a post install?
I have talked to support, and they seem to be lost too. I have been
working with DB2 group but they don't know Netview.
Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.
