Whenever I'm unsure that event processing is working correctly, I do this:
ovstop nvcorrd nvserverd actionsvr
Close any event display windows
Check to make sure there are no nvcorrd, nvserverd, or actionsvr processes running, kill them if necessary.
ovstart
Restart the events display by dragging it off the tool bar
type 'event'
type 'event' again
Check the end of trapd.log where you should see a 'Node Up' (little d) event
Check the events display where you should see the same.

If this does not work, then look for a problem with your rulesets, including any entries you have in /usr/OV/conf/ESE.automation

I am also getting the pop up error on my GUI that nvevents server daemon is unable to connect to nvserverd and that I should start nvserverd daemon. But the nvserverd daemon is running when I check with ovstatus. Restarting it also did not help.

I uncommented # NvserverdTraceTecEvents=YES in the tecint.conf but see nothing being written in nvserverd.log.

Also, my /usr/OV/app-defaults/Nvevents is same as the as-shipped version.

[NV-L] No events in workspace but there in trapd.log

Hi,

I do not see any events in my Netview Events workspace although I see them in /usr/OV/log/trapd.log as well as in Event History.

The events are not being forwarded to TEC either. The tecint.conf looks ok and TEC server is fine.

Tecint.conf :

ServerLocation=@EventServer

TecRuleName=Prod.rs

ServerPort=0

DefaultEventClass=TEC_ITS_BASE

Type=LCF

BufferEvents=YES

UseStateCorrelation=YES

StateCorrelationConfigURL=file:///usr/OV/conf/nvsbcrule.xml

## The following four lines are for debugging the state correlation engine

# LogLevel=ALL

# TraceLevel=ALL

# LogFileName=/usr/OV/log/adptlog.out

# TraceFileName=/usr/OV/log/adpttrc.out

## The following three lines alter nvserverd default behavior

# NvserverdTraceTecEvents=YES

# NvserverdPrimeTecEvents=NO

# NvserverdSendSeverityTecEvents=YES

## LCFINSTANCE=1

Any idea what else should I check?
