Is there some reason why you want to do this yourself instead of
configuring the NetView backup facility to do it?
If you are not aware of that facility, check it out under Chapter 7,
Managing Netwrok Configuration in the NetView Administrator's Guide. You
have that book available under dynatext if you installed it. Just type in
dtext and see if you have the NetView for AIX library.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change an icon from/to
managed/unmanaged via a command so that it could be done from a script? I
am looking at automating a failover procedure that will unmanage icons on
the "from" server and manage icons on the "to" server. We are running
Netview V4. Any help would be appreciated.
