First you need to do some PD (problem determination). The only reason for
this I can think of is that ipmap cored at some point and did not properly
update the status on the map. Have you looked for cores in
/usr/OV/PD/cores/ipmap?
The circumvention you are using, unmanage and then re-manage, or as someone
else suggested, acknowledge and then unacknowledge, should work in a pinch,
because both cause the node status to be re-evaluated based on what is in
the topology database, but you would not want to rely on this as a common
thing. Also, I would guess that ipmap synchronization would fix the
problem if you closed the GUI and restarted it.
If you have a core file or if you have this problem frequently, I suggest
you call Support.

Subject: Status not changing
-- [ From: Vynita Pretorius * EMC.Ver #2.5.02 ] --
Hi all
We are running Netview aix 4.1 and have the following problem
a router with a loopback address appears on the map as red with all
interfaces as being down. I did an ovtopodump of the router and the
status was UP. I stopped and restarted all the netview Deamons
and this did not change anything. Eventually I unmanaged the device, re
managed the device and it went green. Before stopping the netview daemons
I did a couple of demand polls but it did not change.
Could anybody tell me why this happened and how do I rectify it ?
Thanks
