Hi James,
First - It has been fantastic having you (and some of your co-workers) on
this list over the years. I consider it an indispensible support tool
mostly because of your expertise, so I'm sorry to send this flame in your
direction, however, I'm not sure where else to turn. So here goes...
I don't understand how a major NetView release can be announced without "an
exhaustive list" of new features being documented somewhere (hopefully
online!). I sure miss the IBM method of actual announcement letters
available on the announce date. The current NetView pages on the Tivoli
product web site don't even mention that there is a V5.0 and V5.1, and even
the "data sheet" is written using nebulous marketing speak - directed
(supposedly) exclusively at upper management.
Will we REALLY have to order and/or install the upgrade to discover all the
enhancements?
... Phew, that feels better...
Anyway, thanks for putting a list of enhancements together for us, if and
when you get the time, even though I'm sure it isn't in your job
description. Feel free to pass this note along to anyone you can think of
on the marketing side who might be able to remedy this sort of thing in the
future.
Thanks again.
