Hello,
Try setting your DISPLAY variable and export it instead of using -display,
I used a command like: (export DISPLAY=node:0.0 ; /usr/OV/bin/ovxbeep "string")
Also be sure that it's allowed to display on the X-screen you're using,
by activating it with the xhost command.
