The reason for the IT Director edition of NetView with Nways, is the
sharing of snmptrap port 162. Standard NetView NT 5.1.x is not capable of
sharing the port. Both the standard NetView V5.1.x and Nways will not run
at the same time, both try to use port 162. Future version of Netview NT
will correct this situation.

they are
shipping the IT director NetView with their product. So it may be that that
is
all they have tested with, or it may be that they are checking some
licensing
requirement or registry variable. No one in NetView Level3 would know
that.
That is a question for Nways not NetView.

Subject: Nways Mgr. v2 and NetView for NT
Hello there,
in the Nways for NT documentation I read only NetView IT Director
Edition will be supported.
Couldn't we install it over a normal NetView for NT?
Some informations , what we have to do?
Thanks for your help.
