Try putting double quotes around the message you want to pass the pager. If
you configure a rule set and try to call nvpage from there you need to use
$NVATTR_A/1/2/etc. instead of $A, $1, etc..........

$A(node address).What is $NVATTR_A?

For the init string we had the same problem on AIX boxes...THe string AT&F
or AT&F1 work beautifully.. for the variable $A are you using nvpage from
the command line or in the ruleset. In the ruleset you need use $NVATTR_A..

Im running netview 5.1.1 on solaris 5.6 and struggling to page anything
useful to our ops team.
Had a bit of trouble getting this going and it turned out to be the
initialisation string in the hayes.modem file. Its actually working now but
it doesnt appear to be passing the $A in the page. This is the variable for
the nodes ip address or host name.If I use $A in the popup box I get an ip
address on the screen ,If I use it in the pager message all I get is the
hostname of the netview box?Any one know if this is a bug?
Also looking for patch 5.1.2 anyone have a url?

thanks
