Thanks for the info, I believe I'm going to get the opportunity to integrate
these two products very soon and am looking for any input. We however will
end up doing the opposite and use the CW2000 as the source for the Cisco
devices and move them to NetView.

Scott,

According to Cisco, you may integrate the products if you have enabled the
web-based feature on TME/NetView.

Our integration involves using NetView as the source for all Cisco devices,
and
using adding them automatically to cw2k db. In addition, we also have to
update
the host file and the dns entry for name resolution. In addition, we also
have
syslog messages forwarded to Netview's trapd which will be displayed on the
event console, which, if TFNC is used, will be used for the root cause
analysis
of these messages, etc, etc. etc.

My question would be then that both Cisco and Tivoli have stated that CW2000
is Tivoli Ready. Is this not the case since you had to write your own
scripts for integration. How are you doing your integration if you don't
mind me asking?

Cw2k is a standlone application, a resource hog not designed from a
performance
optimization perspective as yet, and lack crucial functionalities. For the
most
part, cw2k has the potential to be a great product, if we continue to pursue
this with Cisco. We have an implementation, where we have Netview on AIX and
cw2k
on Solaris. We wrote some scripts in-house to integrate between these two
applications.

Does the 5.1.2 release of Netview allow for intergration with
Ciscoworks2000. Or does anyone know when that integration capablity will be
available for Netview for NT.
