We are planning to purchase new hardware for network management. We run AIX 4.2, Netview V5R1, Optivity 8.1.1 and CW2000 4.2. We have looked at the IBM F50 with 2GB RAM to meet our requirements. We have been asked to compare with a Sun platform. Can anyone give suggestions on the advantages/disadvantages of IBM vs. Sun and AIX vs. Solaris with this combination of software? We are currently running an upgraded J30 with 1 GB RAM with some performance problems. Thank you. |
