Jane -
The SNMP set problem seems to be specific to Solaris 7
and SEA 1.0.3. I've experimented with a couple of 26
machines with SEA 1.0.2 and the SNMP sets work fine.
The exact same, standard configuration under Solaris 7
won't allow me to set the values.
I found patch 107709-03 at sunsolve1.sun.com. The patch
description didn't match what we're experiencing, but I
thought it was worth a shot. It didn't help.
I'd like to stick with the native daemon, if at all
possible, to simplify classroom setup. Though, the
UCD version may be an option?
FYI - I've posted a similar question to comp.unix.solaris.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth
