I have just done this exercise and it seems to work very well. I have AIX
4.3.3, NV 5.1.2 and the new CiscoWorks 2000 Routed WAN Management bundle. You
need to make sure you get the right integration package from CCO - I got
IntgUtil.v1-1.aix.tar.Z and it worked a treat. Took about 30 mins to run the
integration script but I then had definitive icons for all my Cisco devices and
a new CiscoWorks menu on my NetView menu system. When you double click on a
Cisco icon (they are all executable now), it fires off the web-based CiscoWorks.
NO problems apparently now with zero-length bitmap files as we have seen in the
past. My CiscoWorks 2000 Server is a Solaris 2.7 system so this integration
works nicely if you have distributed network management systems.
One note - following the CiscoWorks Integration Utility notes to run ./nmic.sh
didn't pick up the integration file I needed (I guess because I didn't have
NetView on my Solaris box) but once I had the right one - no worries.
To answer Indy's direct questions - the integration is actually downloaded from
Cisco's CCO but I believe the deal is that the Network Management provider (IBM,
HP, ..) has tested their adapter scripts before CISCO make it available. So, if
you have NetView and CiscoWorks (at the latest levels), that's all you need - no
Tivoli Plus module or anything like that required.

Jane
