Lisa -

Alexis is correct in his assesment below. You have told everyone that your
Tivoli environment was sourced before you started the NetView GUI and that
/usr/OV/lib is in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The only thing else I can think of to
check is the links which Alexis realized must be there below. Part of the
NetView install is to create links to its libraries in /usr/lib. Are they
there on your machine?

cd  /usr/lib
 ls -l libems*
You should see
     libems.a  ->  /usr/OV/lib/libems.a
     libems.so -> /usr/OV/lib/libems.so
Are they there?

If so, and if you really had sourced the Tivoli environment before you started
the GUI, and your lib path is correct, then I don't know what else to tell you.

Hi Lisa.

There is something strange with the error message.
Netview says that it can't find ../../lib/libems.so
whent it runs /usr/OV/bin/backup, but from /usr/OV/bin
 you can't change directory to /usr/OV/lib using ../..
If /usr/OV/bin/backup tries to run ../../lib/libems.so
it tries in fact to run /usr/lib/libems.so.

Did you try to backup mith command line? How did you
get this message?
