A little hint on this. Run netmon.trace at the -M -1 and iptrace using the
format
iptrace -s (ipaddress of netview station) -b ipt.data
format ipt.data using
ipreport -n -s ipt.data > ipt.report
You can match the sequence numbers in the netmon.trace file with the iptrace.
If the echo reply that is bouncing off the unmanaged device has a different
sequence number and actually id number then what is in the netmon.trace file it
is not netview doing the polling.

Are you certain that it's netmon doing the pinging? Check the Man
page for netmon regarding tracing, and verify that it is indeed
netmon. Last time I had this problem it turned out to be Optivity's
SuperPing...
