This procedure is good for the AIX and Netview components. You will
find however that Tivoli will be pretty upset about it. At this point you
will
not be able to start the oserv in order to change the address from the
Tivoli point of view. For a backup server, you may not care. If you do.
check out the Framework Admin Guide for instructions on  changing
the IP address. If this is a Managed Node rather than a standalone
TMR server, you will also need to notify the TMR server of the change.
Ideally, you should notify Tivoli of the change before you actually make
it.

Hi Steyland,


To switch to a new IP adress go through the following prozedure:

     Configure TCP/IP and hostname information
     Run /usr/OV/services/reset_ci
     Run xnmsnmpconf -clearCache
     Run mapadmin -u
     Check next under Options ... SNMP Configuration for valid host names
     Review /etc/snmpd, filesystems, hosts and profile files
     and last: recycle the snmpd deamon (refresh -s snmpd)
