We have a system which has been running fine for some years now, but needs to
re-install it on
some new hardware. On the new machine the nvserverd core dumps every time we
start nvevents (which
doesn't come up with the topology-map).
The old "fine" machine is AIX 4.3.2 and NV6000 v.5.1.1.
The new machine is AIX 4.3.3.0.
At first we tried NV6000 v.5.1.1. The interface stopped responding (IBM
PMR#02022).
We tried NV6000 v.6.0.0. The interface still didn't respond.
We installed AIX servicepack 4, and now the interface worked fine. NetView
didn't. Nvserverd core dumped when nvevents starts..
We went back to NV6000 v.5.1.1. nvserverd still core dumped.
We applied some SNA-hotfixes, and all X11-filesets. still nothing.
The situation is the same with all the installations: We just install the
NetView server and nothing more. No
customization or anything. Just a plain install.
Both machines is SP silver nodes.
Does any of you have experience in AIX 4.3.3 and NetView - any version ?
Any help will be appreciated.
