Yes, it will. Because to make the change, you delete the Tivoli and
reinstall it. The Netview will still be there, but Tivoli won't know about
it.
So you won't be able to apply patches, or use the menu functions.
Take a look at the migration install instructions in the release notes
and installation manual. What you basically ought to do is take the
Netview backup for migration, blow off Tivoli and Netview, reinstall
Tivoli Framework as a TMR, then install Netview. The Netview install
will see the backup and migrate it.

     Another question:

What if we make him a stand alone TMR? We are looking at the 3.7
Framework and would like to make the NetView a stand alone TMR in the 3.7
environment. Since he would have no Tivoli communication to the other TMR
servers, do you think that would be OK? Would it hurt NetView to change the
node from a Managed Node to a TMR?

     Scott,

I was headed in the same direction a while back and was informed
that the
processing req's of the two combined would really load down the
server.
That, of course, would really depend on how much you're trying to
manage
(combined). At the time, my environment was rather large, so it
became a
moot point. Perhaps some judicious use of MLM's and gateways would
alleviate
this load, I don't really know. That was also some time ago and
there may be
new limitations on each app that prohibit co-habitation altogether.

     NetView 6.0.1 AIX 4.3.2

     Question:

I have my NetView installed on a server that is a Managed Node and I
want to
make him a TMR server. Has anyone else attempted this? Any pointers
or
     concerns?
     Thanks.
