Hi Leslie,
Thanks for the response. I tried what you suggested below with no success.
When I looked into the nv.log, it states "the subnet mask cannot be read
from the registery". Do you know what this pertains to? Could this mean I
need to install the latest Windows NT 4.0 service pack (6a)?

Terry, if you have it in the seedfile, you might try
ovstop netmon
ovtopofix -a
ovstart
That usually does it for me. And of course make sure there
is nothing in your seedfile that would exclude it.
Cordially,

Subject: [NV-L] Can't discovery subnet with VPN device
I'm running NetView for NT 6.0.1 on a Windows NT 4.0 box. NetView
discovers the local subnet and the router that connects to the adjacent
subnet. I have a VPN (gate) device on the adjacent subnet, but NetView
does not discover it. I put the IP addr of the device in the seed file and
included it in the /etc/host file (DNS is enable, but entries in the host
file should bypass DNS, right?). Then re-discovered the network, the VPN
device still does not show up on the topology map. I ran the "ovobjprint
-s Interface: <ipaddr of VPN device>" command to see if maybe netmon had
discovered any info associated with this device. Unfortunately, there was
no associated data in the object database. Any ideas on what could be
happening here? I can ping the device, but attempts to demand poll
timesout. Any suggestions?
