Getting the correct status

Hi All

We are running Netview/AIX 5.1.2 AIX 4.2.1

We have an issue where an  object in the database does not reflect the true
status i.e. you do ovtopodump and one interface is down, however on the
router that specific interface is up.
We then run demandpoll but that specific interface remains down.
Weekly we run ovtopofix -a
We have autodiscover off

How do I get Netview to give me the correct status?

At present we are deleting from the map and doing a rediscover.
