Your trap customisation is obviously working and only logging the events.

The reason your command line test (snmptrap servername .1.3.6.4.1.9.5
othermachine 6 9 0) is failing is possibly due to a typo.

In the syntax you attached to your mail message, you have left out a 1
between the 6 and 4.

Should be "snmptrap servername .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5 othermachine 6 9 0".
