It is only deleting the single interface and not the whole node, correct?
How many interfaces are on it? Select the router and 'Tools... Display
Object Information'. You should see a TopM Interface Count, and then
you should see the TopM Interface List. Is the Interface count higher than
50 or 60? If so, you need to convert to the Turbo form of the database.
This is discussed in Appendix G if the Installation & Configuration manual.
The 7500 is often used with high numbers of interfaces. Take a database
backup before converting to Turbo. Make sure you have lots of extra space
in /usr/OV/databases/openview. I mean it.
Also take a look at the configuration of the device this way:
First, modify the MIB application 'Monitor..MIB Values...Interface Info' so
that it
includes the ifIndex field. Do this using 'Tools...MIB Application Builder'
to
modify the application called 'physaddr'.
Next, select the router and open both of these applications:
Monitor...MIB Values...Interface Info (to see the interface table)
Monitor...Network Configuration...Addresses (to see the address table)
With these two open, you can compare them. The index number in the address
table points to the index number in the interface table. If it points
nowhere
you could have a configuration problem. If more than one address points
to the same interface index, make sure you have enabled netmon to manage
Secondary Addressing.

Subject: RE: [NV-L] Problems with discovery of IP
Thanks Leslie, but I have not a duplicate IP address, because i found
it with ovtopodump, locate, etc, but it is not. I have this IP address
in seed file, I do trace with mask 1(icmp) for netmon and this IP is in
netmon.trace file, and if this is for snmp, this is so.
I do ovtopofix, and all good. You have other idea about this problem?
Thanks.

Is it possible you have a duplicate IP address somewhere? Or
perhaps Netview just thinks you have a duplicate. Use Locate to
find out if that address is already on some other node - even if
it does not belong there. Use 'snmpwalk xx.xx.xx.xx system' to
see what node the address is really attached to. Verify that the
name resolution, if any, is correct, both forward and backward
for that address.

is inmediately deleted within subnet, it is closed de active window of
the map and it is reopen without this element. this elements is not
added so manual or automatic. what can i do?
