This message is in MIME format. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. You can use a negative hostname wildcard in the seedfile. Read the admin guide regarding the seedfile, hostnames and (negative) wildcards. My experience has been that negative wildcards MUST be a subset of a positive wildcard as in the example below. Example: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- 10.1.*.* # Discover all nodes on the 10.1.*.* network (required) !ws* # Exclude ws<abc.xyz.com> There are several ways to do this using various wildcards Don Davis -----Original Message----- From: JWhite [mailto:JWhite@PEC.com] Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2001 3:34 PM To: 'IBM NetView Discussion' Subject: [NV-L] autodiscover/nodiscovery Is there a way to have auto discovery on, but have it limited to not discovering workstations if my workstation names follow a standard convention. In other words is there a way to use a "noDiscovery" file that lists what not to discovery? Read
the admin guide regarding the seedfile, hostnames and (negative)
wildcards.
My
experience has been that negative wildcards MUST be a subset of a positive
wildcard as in the example below.
Example:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10.1.*.*
# Discover all nodes on the 10.1.*.* network (required)
!ws*
# Exclude ws<abc.xyz.com>
There
are several ways to do this using various wildcards
