RE: autodiscover/nodiscovery

I did read the admin guide regarding the seedfile.  However I've concluded
that since I have to have "autodiscovery" check on, it doesn't look like I
can omit workstations through the use of a seed file because they still got
discovered.
 
After trying the solution below with "autodiscovery" checked on, everything
was discovered including workstations.  But when I tried with
"autodiscovery" checked off, only the NetView box was discovered because in
the manual it states on page 108, "If New Node Discovery is turned off,
netmon ignores whether you specified groups of nodes in the seed file."
 
Basically I was hoping that there was a way to use a "noDiscovery" file that
would list what not to discovery, because this was the case with OV.

You can use a negative hostname wildcard in the seedfile.
Read the admin guide regarding the seedfile, hostnames and (negative)
wildcards.
My experience has been that negative wildcards MUST be a subset of a
positive wildcard as in the example below.
 
Example:

--------------
 
10.1.*.*               # Discover all nodes on the 10.1.*.* network
(required)
!ws*                    # Exclude ws<abc.xyz.com>
 
There are several ways to do this using various wildcards
