This is a multipart message in MIME format. It does work. It works for me and for everyone else who has tried it. We have been giving this advice about Nvevents for years now and it is documented. If you search these archives, then you will see this advice has been given before. If it is not working for you then there is some other problem you have to solve. Are you using the CDE? Then you may have to log all the way out and back in again the get the Xdefaults to be read again, or you should do xrdb -merge Nvevents from your home directory. Wht operating system are you using? AIX? Solaris? What level? As far as I understand according to description in Admin Guide i should copy nvevents.correlationRule variable from /usr/OV/app-defaults/Nvevents to users $HOME/.Xdefaults and then change it desirable value. I did this - it does not work. For test purpose I copied variable OVw*upStatusColor to $HOME/.Xdefaults and changed it to black. I expected that all up objects will appear black on map. Again nothing happend after restarting NetView graphical interface. In fact, later I made the same change directly in /usr/OV/app-defaults/OVw without result too. Anyway - I made global change in /usr/OV/app-defaults/Nvevents: I changed nvevents.correlationRule to my ruleset - and it worked.
