This is a multipart message in MIME format.
Then I did miss it. Thanks for the correction.

Excuse me? Are you talking about the 6.0.2 Release Notes?
See the section entitled "Additional MIBS and Traps", which is on page 8

I sent the message and then ran nvaddtrapdconf. It appears to have fixed
most of the traps. Also, I don't recall seeing this command documented
anywhere in the release notes for 6.0.2. Did I miss something? This seems
like a very important step that needs to be performed in order to format
these traps. Without documentation how are users to know the command even
exists?

Thanks for the help.

I don't understand.
Does this mean you already did the nvaddtrapdconf or what?
If not, then do it.
If so, then you need to identify the additional Cisco MIBs you need and
run mib2trap.
That's all there is, unless you are hoping some other soul who has already
done this will send you his trapd.conf

Do you have 6.0.1 or 6.0.2?

Over 100 new Cisco trap defs were added to the default trapd.conf in
/usr/OV/newconfig/OVSNMP-RUN/trapd.conf
If you haven't done so already, you can get these added to your existing
trapd.conf by running
nvaddtrapdconf /usr/OV/newconfig/OVSNMP-RUN/trapd.conf
and the merge will take place.

Then you can see what other trap defs you need and work on those.
You will have to add those manually or get the proper MIBs and run
mib2trap. But I would not try that until you have 6.0.2 installed as
there are fixes you will need there.

I am sorry if this has been covered on the list already.

What is the best way to load cisco MIBs? I have seen a script out there
that was last updated sometime in late 1997. Is there something similar
that is more recent? I need to format a large number traps for cisco and I
am looking for the quickest way. I am hoping there is something out there
that has all of the MIBs/trap definitions that will automate this step.

TIA
