I think you'll need to redefine the trap in Netview, then build a rule that 
only forwards the node up/down traps.  Look at the "trap settings" and 
"forward" objects in the rule building interface.

It sounds simplistic, but I think you'll just need to just select the node 
up/down traps in the "trap settings" object and connect that to the "forward" 
object.

Ok,

I was trying to filter out the unneccesary traps and focusing solely on node
up and node down events that supposed to be going to my TEC.

I tried using the rules within Netview to do so but still got a flood of
traps. So I went to trapd.conf and removed the trap we dont want to see. Now
I am not seeing any sort of traps either in netview or at the TEC.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong??
