I took a sniffer trace of the discovery of a device and it looks like each
time netview discover a device with a cisco oid, it will try to walk
through the CDP mib to get the information. It also go through the ARP mib
as beel as some unknow IBM mib that I could not find on any of my devices.

That was my thought too. Hopefully someone with more authoritative
knowledge of the discovery engine will weigh in on this.

That's my thought. I've always (for better or worse) viewed things as
"if it ain't in an snmpwalk, netview doesn't know about it" but I'm
willing to be enlightened if this is a mistaken impression.
