Scott,

unfortunately on NetView 6 no more duplicate ip address traps are generated
as it was on NetView 5.
On NetView 7.1 this feature can be reenabled by setting the following
netmon option in /usr/OV/conf/netmon.conf
-----
# Set to TRUE to generate a duplicate event as in v5
NV_NETMON_GENERATE_DUP_ADDR_EVENT=TRUE
-----
On NetView 6 I would recommend to turn on a full netmon trace for some time
with "netmon -M -1".
And:
grep Duplicate /usr/OV/log/netmon.trace*
from time to time.
This will show you something like:
10:47:28 : .//nl_snmpstate.c[6971] : Duplicate IP address 10.100.50.3 on
tivnvcisco1 and tivnvcisco2

Hope this helps ... and don't forget to stop the netmon trace again with
"netmon -M 0".

Kind regards

Oliver Bruchhaeuser

NetView 6.0.3 AIX 4.3.3

I can tell from the behavior I am seeing on a node that I must have a
duplicate IP address. Does anyone know of a way to find the duplicate? I
keep seeing an interface getting deleted and added for a node but it is
listed in the trpad.log as en0 and not the address so I cant track it
there.

Thanks,
