I might be missing what you are trying to say but are the variables already apart of other active collections ?

Netiew 7.1.2 on Solaris 8

When I try to add a data collection, the OK button gets disable for some
variables.
I thought that this was the case for variables whose type is "Display
String" only, but I'm trying to start a collection for "Gauge" types of
variables.
The only way around this is to create an _expression_ with the OID and start
a collection on the _expression_.

Any ideas on why this could be happening.
