Sorry, I should have clarified better.  The workspaces question was
unrelated to the other question.  I didn't think it would effect which map
opened, just trying to hunt down where this was set.

Dean,
The users workspaces will not affect which map opens.
Check the message from James, what you can do is copy the
/usr/OV/app-defaults/OVw file to the users home directory and edit the
OVw*mapname variable to WANmap.
I think this should work as you want it to. There are a number of variables
that can be changed the same way with any file in app-defaults, take some
time to look around in there(and always keep a backup!) you might be
surprised by what you find.
