Neither NetView for Windows nor NetView for UNIX directly support the collection of data represented by SNMP V2 MIBS.  The data collection GUIs only connect to the SNMP V1 MIB database.  Your best bet it to obtain an SNMP V1 copy of the MIB you want and load that instead, but in some cases you can get around the limitation by manual edit.

You can edit the \usr\ov\conf\snmpCol.conf manually using the other entries there as a guide, provided the data you wish to collect are SNMP V1 data types (no Counter64 for example).

There are matching MIB browsers for the SNMP V2 loaders you mentioned.  For  \usr\ov\bin\loadmibv2.exe use \usr\ov\bin\browserv2.exe.
For the Web Console there is a built-in browser which you can start the Console GUI or from the command line with  \usr\ov\bin\mibbrowser.bat.

I am using NetView 7.1.3 for Windows.  We have loaded several SNMP v2 MIBs
and are interested in using the data collection feature of NetView with
these MIBs.  However, when we go into the data collection and start to
browse the tree, options to select from these MIBs are not available.

Is data collection supported with SNMP v2 MIBs?  Does it matter whether the
MIB is loaded using the Web Console MIB Loader or
\usr\ov\bin\loadmibv2.exe?

Is there a v2 MIB browser with this version of NetView?

Thanks,
Johanna Hislop
