Hi,

We have tested the "RedHat Enterprise Linux 2.1 ES" with Netview 7.14 and plans to start production in May.

It works fine and is stable. When you install you need to change /etc/redhat-release to include "2.1AS"

From
        # cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 2.1 (Panama)

change to

        [root@dmr-nvtest C]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 2.1AS (Panama)

Regards

Thank you Paul.

Actually, I've had the chance to see the release notes and Red Hat 7.2 is
supported and is the OS we would test this on.  There are many options we
would have to consider before laying out monies for a new OS for 8 machines
and looking at what support cost now with Sun and support through Red Hat.

Thanks for the help.

Dean,
It is highly unlikely that Fedora will ever be supported as that has been
deemed a desktop OS. NetView needs to run on a server.
I would suggest taking a look at RHAS. It is possible that RHES will be
supported in the future(as far as we can tell the only difference is the
license).

This is not an official support statement! Just my opinion, but I doubt I am
very far off mark.

Paul
