Larry:
James, That's what is strange.. When i ping on the object which is red, it comes back up as green and up event is generated but right after some time, it goes back to red and down event is generated.. no idea what's wrong? Thanks, Larry James Shanks <jshanks@us.ibm.com> wrote: Objects go red when they don't respond at all or don't respond within the time allotted. Perhaps when you ping them they are fine, but later the network is congested when netmon does it and the ping responses don't make it back or back before time expires. Have you tried adjusting the time-out and retry parameters for these devices in xnmsnmpconf? James Shanks Level 3 Support for Tivoli NetView for UNIX and Windows Tivoli Software / IBM Software Group
Hi, We have Netview 7.1.3 FP3 on AIX 5.1. There is some strange behavior on some of the deivces on the Map. There are showing up as red on map. When i ping them, they come back up as green and status is up and right after some time they go red again. But there is no problem of events coming in from those devices. I'm cluless in here. Could some out there help me please. Many Thanks, Larry. Do you Yahoo!? Check out the new Yahoo! Front Page. www.yahoo.com Do you Yahoo!? Check out the new Yahoo! Front Page. www.yahoo.com |
